Wentcourt Mopars Golden Boy, Jensen to his friends and Jenny (or Jennyboy) to his family and very very close friends.
A lot of people ask, 'why the name Jensen and where did Mopars Golden boy come from? Well Jensen came from the name of Jeff's car, his Jensen Interceptor to be exact and Mopars Golden Boy because inside the car is a Mopars Gold engine and yes my husband insisted on having our first male dog named after his precious car. So the rest of the litter become named after vehicles of some sort or another.
Jensen was our most successful show dog so far, he has won Best of Breed at Crufts twice, been Best Opposite Sex at Crufts once, Best Dog at Crufts three times and has been Top Dog four times, has won Best in Show at the Estrela Mountain Dog Show 4 times in a row, Best in Show at an all breeds show once, Reserve Best in Show at an all breeds show twice and has had numerous Best in Group, Best of Breeds, firsts etc. etc. but to us he will always be our boy first and anything else second.
Jensen started his carreer at 6 months and at his very first show, like his mum Ketti, won his class then went on to win Reserve Best Dog, not bad for a baby. But at the age of 6 he decided that he didnt want to show anymore and so after some consideration he became a stay at home dog and had the jpy of producing two very fine litters, and one of his daughters has now just become a Dutch Champion, well done to Inca and her owner Diana Curtis.
Jensen is a very beautifully red fawn and has a lovely deep black mask, his father is Claudios do Sitio das Neves at Capanegra (an import) who is owned by Jorge and Ilda Damas-Mora with whom we owe so much. Jensen was brought up in the home as is all our puppies, and so he and the rest of his brothers and sisters were very well adjusted to all the home noises and goings on, smells and new funny looking animals (our cats and rats).
Jensen is now retired from showing and breeding but still lives a happy and fairly healthy life, and looks forward to any visitors that may wish to come and see him.
And finally, today 2nd January 2008 we had to say goodbye to our most wonderful boy, he has had a few medical problems over this last year and we finally decided that enough was enough and we had to let him go to sleep in a dignified manner and not drag it on any longer, for his sake. So the angels came for him at 6.30 our time this evening and I held him in my arms and kissed him goodnight for the last and final time - Good night my sweet angel and sleep tight and your mum will be waiting for you.
