WENTCOURT KENNELS

Simba eventually arrived at Heathrow Airport 20th October 2007 and boy was he well worth waiting for.  What a beautiful boy and he will be a great asset to our kennel and the rest of the breeding programme here in the U.K.

Trisha ( Asterel Estrelas) came with us (or should I say 'we weren't going anywhere without her'), and even insisted on driving all the way there and back in her very large new van, which was brilliant; loads of room for the kids and the dog including the very large kennel in which he had arrived in.

I want to thank Heikki and of course Nina for allowing us to have this wonderful and special boy and hope one day to eventually meet them both in person, maybe one day when I win the lottery.

His first show was in January of this year and did us proud by taking a 2nd place to a very nice Malanois Belgium shepherd, he behaved beautifully for Trisha who had handled him for us. On the 22nd January we took him to a local match, again for a bit of training and socialising, he won his round and then went on to win Best Adult in match. Wow we were all so pleased with him and in he went for the challenge for Best in Match, and low and behold he won hands down. He is now also beginning to enjoy meeting lots of people and all the dogs that go to these events and we are looking forward to his next show in February.

And at the show which was National Working and Pastoral Breeds, Simba won his class and then went on to take Best of Breed what a wonderful achievement for him and I do have to thank my friend Diana Curtis (Stormwitch Estrelas)  for running him for me. But the best is yet to come, the Estrela Mountain Dog Association Show which is to be held Saturday 3rd May, 2008 with Luis Pinto Teixeira judging and it is his opinion that will matter more to me as he is a phenomenal judge and has years of experience within the Estrela Mountain Dog breed.  It was a great success, Senor Teixeira gave Simba first in the Post Graduate class and praised him highly, stating he had a very beautiful and good strong head, one of the best he has seen in an Estrela. 

Simba is enjoying his days out to the various shows and winning most of his classes, hopefully I can have an up-to-date result page for everyone to see just how well he is doing. But for those who may well be interested, Simba is available at stud to approved bitches.
